1. Best Filtering Scheme:

Use the WW Lidar filtering tools - to produce a display of those points that are part of a distinct feature type, i.e., an ASPRS Standard LIDAR Point Class such as those identified below. Your contest submission will be the saved filter you have created and a screen shot of your display.

Judging criteria for “Best Filtering Scheme” include:
•Filter scheme is retrievable (stored in the correct location in the correct format - * .json)
•Filtering scheme is reusable (complete and fully functional)
•Filtering scheme functions as advertised (accurately isolates the correct points from a supported LAS file)
2. Best Rendering Scenario:

Use the WW Lidar visualization tools to generate an image that is most thematically effective, i.e., an image that clearly illustrates issues that impact species, impact the habitat, impact the built environment, and so on. Save the image and submit for judging.
•Photo realistic (can be visible spectrum, infrared, and or creative use of other bands)
•Thematically effective, e.g., image that clearly illustrates issues that impact species, impact the habitat, impact the built environment, etc.
Judging criteria for “Best Rendering” selection set include:
•Artistic style
•Aesthetic quality
•Clarity of message
•Extra credit for youth involvement
3.Best Practical Application of the Lidar Tools:

Let your imagination, knowledge and passion inspire results in this category. The only requirement is use of the WW Lidar visualization tools. Submit a description of your “practical application” that includes:
•Application need
•Application analysis methodology (inputs, steps taken to produce results and outputs)
•Exhibits that illustrate outputs, list analysis steps, etc.
Judging criteria for “Best Practical Application” include:
•Novelty - creative use of tools
•Practicality - value to a particular field or discipline
•Succinct documentation - no more than a one page description (list and pictures encouraged)
•Extra credit for youth involvement
4.Best Suggestion for New Program Feature:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After working with the program for a while, you may have some excellent ideas about how the program could be improved. Maybe it is a better user interface for some existing feature, or maybe it is a feature that doesn’t exist. Document and submit your suggestion including:
•How the feature might be described in a user manual
•Why the feature is needed
Judging criteria for “New Program Feature” include:
•Value – How useful would this tool be in practice
•Novelty – How creative is this idea
